Meet Dr. Lea Planzos
Dr. Lea Planzos, DMD, MS, is a board-certified periodontist who has deep ties to her hometown of Brooklyn, New York. With a strong passion for gum health, Dr. Planzos has dedicated her career to helping patients achieve optimal oral health, with a focus on the gums and underlying bone. Her journey in dentistry began at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where she earned her dental degree with clinical honors. She then continued her education at Columbia University, earning a Master’s in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry.
Throughout her education and training, Dr. Planzos remained committed to advancing the field of periodontics. She contributed to a clinical study on immediate implant placement, which was published in dental literature. Today, Dr. Planzos holds the title of Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology, a prestigious designation that highlights her expertise and commitment to periodontal care.

Dr. Planzos is deeply passionate about the connection between gum health and overall health. Her mission is to help patients at every stage of gum disease, providing treatment and education on prevention. Additionally, Dr. Planzos is skilled in advanced treatments like LANAP® and LAPIP® using laser technology, which offer non-invasive solutions to improve gum health.
